The Artist’s Bio

I am an artist.
Besides that I can tell you
of the white streak in my dark hair,
and of poetry that I have read,
or of the new snow on Mt. Baldy
and that today the leaves
of my small persimmon tree,
by their complete absence,
revealed two orange orbs
which, in their heaviness,
bend a slender branch
so that the earth
is now closer to the sky.
