In my sculptures and paintings,
I inevitably call forth a human figure, usually female.
The paintings are a mix
of drawing and pigmentation materials, whereas the sculpted
figures may remain in their original forms of clay, construction
materials, plant fiber or fabric. Others may be cast
in plaster or bronze.
Often times, one of these
sculpted figures is reinvented through a size and material change. The
result is a reincarnation of the essence of the piece with a
lingering flavor of the original.
Frequently a new sculpture
emerges from the shapes discarded in the working process of
this reinvention, resulting in a further reincarnation as a
new line in the family.
